GREENVILLE, S.C. – An 89-year-old woman was killed after her husband hit her with their car in a grocery store parking lot, authorities say.
Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill told The Greenville News that 89-year-old Jesse Roaden was pulling the car to the front of the store to pick up his wife Saturday afternoon when he lost control of the vehicle.
Dill says Roaden told investigators he may have hit the accelerator instead of the brake.
The Highway Patrol is investigating.
Not that big a deal, but it did prompt the following comment underneath the article by ManInCharlotte:

A man and his wife were visiting Jerusalem when she suddenly passed away. The local coroner said he could ship the body to the US for $5000 or bury her locally for $150. The man told him to ship her to the US. When the coroner asked why he would spend the extra money the husband replied, “A man died and was burried here many years ago who rose from the dead after three days. I just can’t take that chance!”
Which of course prompted a round of completely uninteresting scoldings – but it was kinda funny.
